There is some debate whether or not chalk art is growing or on the decline. While we must admit that we are no longer in the golden era of gospel chalk, one thing is sure - unless new chalkers are continually being trained it will eventually fade away and die.
There used to be quite a few chalk trainers around the country, large national chalk conferences and smaller, regional events scattered about. Today, to my knowledge, there are fewer than half a dozen chalk workshops in existence on an annual basis. But, as George Bernard Shaw said, "We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future."
If you are hosting a chalk workshop or conference event I hope you will post that information here. And if you have attended one, give us a report on your experience.
Trying to help keep things on track,
